One interesting aspect of games is that they allow to get feedback on dynamical processes of different kind. Imagine, that when you read books on world history for example by Fernan Braudel and also you can visualize, how the inventions spread over the world, the trade rotes emerge and when their intensity increases there are more cities and wealth of the world growth. The whole picture how the civilization changes perceived in dynamics. This will enrich the understanding of history, will allow to formulate new ideas on what factors affected past and could help find how will be affected our future.

I chose to graduate as engineer in dynamics of space vehicles. During university years my first programs were simulation of stabilization and descending processes for space apparatus. What fascinated me - was a sense of life of these technical devices. You could play with parameters and see how the behavior changes. There were also courses on dynamic of battles and dynamics of industrial processes. So this knowledge allowed me to look into details of different processes.

The story was that when I graduated - the defense space industry in Russia was in collapse, so I had to chose another way to earn for food.

For quite a while I worked in game development industry and wrote code to simulate air defense, air planes, vehicles. But also I got knowledge on entire set of algorithms which allows to develop games - those which concern graphics, network, artificial intelligence.

Looking where the whole game development industry is now I think that the era of
plenty of different simulation of processes is still to come.

And I want to participate in creation of this future.

First I will start from simple things like -how to set up working environment, how to write simple programs, how to add sound, graphical interfaces, network capabilities and then will extend these foundations to the variety of different examples to simulate things.
